In an effort to provide open communication and dialogue between parents and teachers, a special group called the Parent Teacher Leadership Organization (PTLO), has been formed. The mission of this group is "to dedicate our time and efforts in supporting our students, community and teachers of the Academy of Business and Technology. When schools, families and community groups work together to support learning, children tend to do better in school, stay in school longer and like school more." We can be winners for our children.Check the website news for the next parent meeting- The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal program that protects the privacy of students' educational records, as well as information and resources that are available to help schools and institutions of higher education plan for, respond to and recover from a serious incident.- ABT is required to provide personal student information to government agencies including the military, upon request. Parents may "opt out" of this requirement by providing a letter to the School Leader, Mr. Kirk, requesting that information for their child not be provided.
